Automated Documentation & Beyond

Liongard Roar platform provides unified visibility for MSPs across the modern IT stack. From cloud services, network devices, and on-premises applications and services, the automated system configuration documentation the platform captures, creates a historical timeline to simplify issue resolution, change management, and reporting. Our Cisco Meraki inspector accurately captures the critical information MSPs need across all of their customer devices and organizations under management. Auto-discovery is set up through a single account with configuration options, including continuous inspections.

This continuity allows for alerts to be triggered when unexpected changes occur, accurately record intended ones, and notify you of opportunities to apply best practices. Asset inventories, license statuses, privileged user accounts, and detailed firewall policies are some of the data fields that Roar captures. Specific data points, called Metrics, can be extracted from the dataset for reporting within Roar and pushed external systems.

Roar's Cisco Meraki inspector eliminates credential sprawl and the need to log into individual organizations to manually maintain documentation. The inspector empowers every MSP engineer with details they need to secure customers with the up-to-date information they can trust in the PSA or documentation platform with Roar's automation. Across the MSP, our ability to provide rapid review and auditing of configurations and counts across all customer devices, empowers your account management, vCIO services, and billing teams.

With Roar's data, MSPs can reduce risks for outages, prevent mistakes, gain continuous oversight, and develop the potential to grow profitability.

Use Cases

  • Liongard's continuous documentation enables MSPs to know when a Meraki license is coming up for renewal. Tracking expirations, whether it's a domain name, TLS cert, or as mission-critical as a Meraki license -- having visibility across all of your customers in a single dashboard means countless hours of saved time and headaches. With each daily inspection, the platform captures critical system configuration data such as expiration date and calculates the days until a renewal is required.
  • A properly configured Meraki's firewall rules are the heart of your customer's security posture. However, changes in a customer environment are inevitable. With Liongard continuously documenting your Meraki's firewall rules day over day, you build a historical log of every change. Whether they were intentional, unintended, or the work of a malicious actor, each firewall rule and policy is documented and enables you to revert changes to a working state.
  • It's common best practice to perform a thorough audit of network devices when onboarding a new customer. But more often than not, the task of manually documenting asset inventories and critical details such as IP address, serial, and model numbers becomes overlooked or poorly maintained. Liongard's continuous daily inspection returns consistent and accurate asset data, enabling MSPs to perform rapid capacity and renewal planning.

The Cisco Meraki Inspector is classified as a Network Inspector and is configured utilizing the managed cloud agent that's included with every instance. Inspections require that the customer Meraki Organization has API access enabled. The Inspector is a multi-tenant inspector, and a global API key can be used to configure the Parent and auto-discovered child organizations. The Inspector queries the Cisco Meraki API on a regular basis to document the critical configuration data across all the Meraki networks you manage over time.
The inspector can be configured to run on a regular schedule set by the MSP, but no more than once every 8 hours.
